Basic Quilting Class
For
all of you who want to learn to make a quilt from beginning to end at
your own pace, this is the class for all. You will learn fabric
selection, fabric template making and correct marking, cutting and
piecing all by hand. Appliqué and quilting are also
included. This will assure you will have a solid foundation
and can experience complete success when making future quilts.
The cost of the class is $50.00 for six classes.
Book and kit are extra. Classes are taught by appointment.
Appliqué Classes with Maria
Maria
teaches a beginner, moderate and advanced hand appliqué class from 1:30
to 4:00 on every 2nd Wednesday and 3rd Saturday of the month.
There is a fee of $15.00 for each class and a kit for $5.00 is
available. Be sure and call for an appointment. Exquisite!
Your Choice Bag Class!
Choose
a pattern from our large selection and we will create a class for
you! Class fee is $25.00. We will help you with fabric
selection or you may use your own. Call us for details.

Crazy Quilt Class
Whether
you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced Crazy Quilter, we have
the classes for you. We can teach you how to piece your fabrics in a
beginning class for crazy quilting. Then you will learn the basic
embroidery stitches, intermediate stitches, and advanced embellishments
inside the patches. Each class will be $20.00 and require at least two
students before the classes will be scheduled. All you need to bring
for the first class is a basic sewing kit that includes a pair of small
scissors. We will provide your stitching supplies at $2.50 a kit.
Basic Apron Class
You
have seen all the cute aprons in the shop and Jeanne is responsible for
every single one! Aprons are the hottest things around, so get yourself
started with this beginner’s class. $20 class fee and $12 Kit Fee.
Writing Case Class
This is a tri-fold fabric notebook that is very stylish with pockets to hold a writing pad and pens.
Come in and see the samples! $22 class fee.
Featherweight 101 Class
Jeanne will take you through the steps of cleaning and maintaining your Featherweight.
Be sure to tap her wealth of knowledge! $20 class fee.
Dee Dee’s Paper Cuts
Every
month brings a new and exciting project. These make beautiful
gifts for friends or wonderful keepsakes just for you! $10-$15,
depending on class and materials; sometime requires a kit. Be
sure to check our monthly newsletter for current project information.
Wool Crazy
The
project is a 60”x60” Wool Crazy Quilt wall hanging. It is from a book
entitled Wool Crazy by JoAnn Mullaly. It is the most fun, charming
piece that I have seen in a long time. We will be doing a
stitching group centered on this book. You will need to purchase the
book at $25.50 and a kit of background fabrics for $35. We will then
meet once a month for four months or maybe even longer. There will be a
$25 class fee that includes all four months and use of a huge basket of
wool scraps for you to choose from to do your appliqués. All you
need to bring is your sewing supplies, including threads, beads, and
buttons. We know when you come in and see the book; you will not
be able to resist joining our group, “Las Mujeres Locas” (Crazy Women).
These classes are usually the 1st Saturday and 3rd Wednesday of the
month.
Friday Retreat
It
has come to my attention that I have way to much fabric at home. I am
assuming that most of ya’ll do too! I have also found it hard to find
the time to make anything with my outrageous stash of fabric, so….. We
have scheduled the second Friday of every month to be our One Day
Friday Retreat Day at Las Colchas. There will be a $5 charge and you
will need to call to let us know you will be here. You may stay from
10-4 and feel free to bring your lunch! I will have a suggestion for
new quilts each month, or you may bring a U.F.O.

Basic Rug Hooking
Join
us the fourth Friday of every month to learn the basics of rug hooking
which include transferring your project pattern to your rug backing,
cutting the strips, where to start, and how to do the actual hooking
and finishing. These will only be small projects and kits will be
available. Class Fee is $35.00 Kit prices will vary. 1-4pm
