Classes may be scheduled according to your schedule; we make every effort to be flexible so that you can take advantage of the classes we have available when it is convenient to you.We also have regularly scheduled classes on specific days with specific times. All skill levels are invited to participate in Las Colchas classes UNLESS otherwise stated in the class description. Please refer to the class supply list prior to your class time.
AN EVERYDAY BAG CLASS

Cost of class is $25 plus materials and pattern for a 4-hour class.
BABY BUNK HOUSE

This is a great way to learn how to rotary cut, machine piece, and machine
quilt. This makes a great baby quilt or throw. Cost of class is $25 plus
materials. One 4-hour class. Note: Kits for this class are available.
BASIC APPLIQUÉ CLASS
Learn how to hand appliqué using traditional needle turn appliqué, reverse
appliqué, and freezer paper appliqué. Cost of class is $15
for a 2-hour class. A basic kit for this class is available.
BASIC QUILT CLASS
This class is a six 2-hour series of classes for $50 plus materials. This is
the perfect class if you don’t know how to quilt, but want to get started on
making that heirloom quilt you have always wanted to make. It is also great
for those of you who would like to brush up on your skills. You will be
making a 4-block sampler. You will learn how to make your templates, mark
your fabric, piece, appliqué, sew curved seams, pivot, put your blocks
together, layer, quilt and bind. NOTE: The book, Teach Yourself to Quilt, is required for this class and is available for purchas at Las Colchas. You may also purchase basic kits from the shop.
BEST FRIENDS CLASS (Star
Quilt)
This is a great class to take as a follow-up to your Basic Class. You and
your best friend will spend the day at Las Colchas. In the morning one
friend will cut while the other sews. In the afternoon you will switch
roles. By the end of the day, each one of you will leave with your own quilt
top. Class fee is $35 and includes pattern.
CHRISTMAS LOG CABIN WALLHANGING CLASS

You will learn how to rotary cut and quick piece this traditional log cabin
block. Kits are available and they include a wide variety of greens and
reds. Come in and see our shop model. Cost of class is $15 plus materials.
CRAZY QUILTING
A guest teacher will help you piece your fabric and add stitches to decorate your
project. For this class you will need to bring your basic sewing supplies
plus embroidery needles. Call and make your appointment now. Cost of class
is $35 (kit included). Call the shop to inquire. NOTE: Basic, intermediate and advance classes are available.
RUG HOOKING
The class is free with purchase of a kit and hook. We have brand new kits
that you can select from. In the class you will learn how to get started.
You will get hints and tips on how to finish your project. This is a 2-hour
class.
Basic Embroidery Class
The class fee for this 3 hour class is $20. Learn how to transfer the pattern to the background fabric and then six different stitches: backstitch, chain stitch, blanket stitch, running stitch, stem stitch, and French knots. Basic kits are available for purchase at the shop.
JO'S LITTLE WOMEN CLUB
In most clubs you make individual blocks for one big quilt. But with Jo's Little Women club you will make 5 small quilts and a few extra projects. No two quilts will be a like. You get to choose from a stack of 35 fat quarters which fabrics you would like in each project. We are always looking for new members. We meet every month on the third Thursday and third Saturday, from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Your cost for the club is a tower of 35 fat quarters from JO Morton collection of fabrics, $90 and $5 per month. KANSAS TROUBLES CLUB
Do you love Kansas Troubles fabrics from Moda? Then come join us every quarter for a few hours of small projects, fabric, food and fun. Kansas Troubles Club meets every three months. We have classes that meet during the week and on the weekends. Cost for the club is $12 per meeting. During the meeting you receive four fat quarters of the latest Kansas Troubles collection. You will receive a copy of the Kansas Troubles Newsletter. Each month we do a make and take project, some months it is hand work, some months it is machine piecing and still others it is a combination of handwork and machine piecing. In each of the newsletters Lynn Hagmeir designs a quilt for that season using her newest collection. She includes what's happening with Kansas Troubles, recipes and many other items.
